And you have Etcher installed on your computer. You can put the open source version of Chrome OS on a USB drive and boot it on any computer without installing it, just like youd run a Linux distribution. You will also have an unzipped image file of the latest Chromium OS (as shown in steps one and two). ChromeOS is a Linux OS and has all the functionality of the GNU/Linux system, so should be able to read any USB flash device with a standard filesystem.
